BOSTON, Mass. (May 18, 2016) – Earlier today, the Disney Magic made history as the first Disney Cruise Line ship to ever call on Boston, Mass. In honor of this inaugural visit, Captain Andy McRonald and shipboard officials welcomed local port and community leaders onboard for a traditional maritime plaque exchange ceremony.

“All of us aboard the Disney Magic are extremely proud to be a part of this inaugural voyage to Boston,” said Captain Andy McRonald. “It’s no secret that Boston is teeming with American history and culture, and we’re certain our guests will enjoy exploring the city’s rich offerings.”

Disney Cruise Line guests will journey down the cobblestone streets of Freedom Trail and pass by prominent locations of the American Revolution. Budding scholars will make their way over to Cambridge to stroll the halls and courtyards of the distinguished universities of Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. And sports fans alike will throw on their favorite baseball caps and relive America’s favorite pastime at Fenway Park, the country’s first Major League Baseball field and home of the Boston Red Sox.

Today’s inaugural call on Boston is part of a 14-night eastbound transatlantic cruise from Port Canaveral, Fla., to Dover, England, with first-call visits to Sydney, Nova Scotia (May 20); Dublin, Ireland (May 26); and Liverpool, England (May 27). During the summer season, the Disney Magic will embark on 13 European voyages.
